Privacy policy
Effective date: October 20, 2026
StartupAsks ("we") runs this website, a list you can join before our board of early-startup asks opens. This policy covers this website and the emails we send.
What we collect
- The email address you type into one of our two sign-up forms, and which list you joined: the weekly picks for builders, or the launch notice for founders.
- When you signed up and confirmed, plus basic delivery data our email provider records, such as whether an email was delivered or opened and whether a link in it was clicked.
- Technical data our hosting provider receives whenever a page loads (your IP address, browser type and the page requested), used to serve and protect the site.
We don't ask for your name. This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
How we use it
Only to send what you signed up for: the weekly picks, or one email the day we open. We don't sell or rent your email, and we don't share it with sponsors or with the startups on the board.
Who handles it for us
- Kit (kit.com) stores the list and sends our emails.
- Cloudflare (cloudflare.com) hosts this website.
- Google Fonts (fonts.google.com) serves the fonts on these pages, so Google receives your IP address when a page loads.
These companies handle data for us under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
Seeing, changing or deleting your data
- Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link.
- To see, change or delete the email address we hold, reply to any email from us and ask. We'll do it within 30 days.
Do Not Track and other websites
We don't track you across other websites, and we don't run advertising or analytics trackers on this site, so we treat every visitor the same whether or not their browser sends a Do Not Track signal. Google may receive your IP address through the fonts, as noted above; we don't control what it does with that.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the next email we send you, before it applies to your data.
